The anticipation and excitement leading up to a Walt Disney World vacation is palpable! It's a time for families and friends to come together, share their dreams and priorities, and eagerly count down the days until they can experience the magic of Disney together. The thrill of discussing favorite rides, shows, and attractions only adds to the joy and eagerness of the upcoming adventure!
Starting July 24, Walt Disney World is simplifying their naming conventions to make it easier for guests to navigate their services. Here's what's changing:
- Disney Genie+ will now be called Lightning Lane Multi Pass
- Individual Lightning Lane will be renamed Lightning Lane Single Pass
These updates aim to provide more clarity and flexibility, allowing guests to:
- Plan Lightning Lane experiences before their visit for added peace of mind
- Select specific experiences and times before purchasing
- Book Lightning Lane passes for multiple days in a single transaction
These changes aim to make it easier for guests to plan and enjoy their Disney vacation!
Here's a breakdown of how the Lightning Lane Multi Pass works:
- Make up to 3 Lightning Lane selections in advance
- Choose available times for each selection
- On the day of your visit:
- Use one of your selections
- Check the My Disney Experience app for availability
- Make an additional Lightning Lane selection (if available)
This allows you to plan ahead, make the most of your time, and enjoy a more flexible and convenient experience!
Here's how Lightning Lane Single Pass works:
- Secure a time to ride a highly demanded attraction
- Make your purchase and plan in advance (new feature)
- Similar to how it works today, but with the added benefit of advance planning
This allows you to reserve a spot in line for a popular attraction, and now you can plan ahead and make that reservation before your visit!
Other important things to know -
- Disney Resort hotel guests and select hotels: plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance (up to 14 days)
- All other guests: plan up to 3 days in advance
- Guests can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, or both
- The app will be updated for easier purchasing and planning
- Lightning Lane passes combine features from current services and FastPass+, allowing guests to plan ahead and simplify their vacation.
Starting July 24, Disneyland Resort will also adopt the Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass names. However, the process for purchasing, selecting, and redeeming Lightning Lane passes at Disneyland Resort will remain unchanged. The Disney Genie service features will still be available in the My Disney Experience and Disneyland apps, which have also received updates to improve user experience, including dining reservations and mobile food ordering.
